Perseverance Lodge 155 held a Ladies’ Evening with a difference.

The evening was staged at the home of lodge secretary David Hilliard and on a beautiful summer evening most of those present spent the time in the garden around the swimming pool.

Assistant Provincial Grand Master John Moore is serving his second year as WM of the lodge.

There was a champagne reception followed by a buffet and wine.

The toast to the ladies was proposed by Cyril McGibbon with Norma Moore replying on behalf of the ladies.

Francene Hawkes found the perfect way to keep cool on a hot summer night – a glass of cold champagne and dipping her feet in the swimming pool.

Having a swinging time in a garden hammock are six-year-old Katie Balmer and her mum Amanda while dad Simon ensured there were no accidents.

Cyril McGibbon, who celebrates his 97th birthday in June, proposed the toast to The Ladies and his customary way did not need the assistance of any notes. He is pictured with Norma Moore and her husband, Assistant Provincial Grand Master John Moore
