The Chapter was founded on 18th. Of June 1825, it is attached to Ancient union lodge 203 (now Ancient Union and Princes Lodge 203).
The principal Lodges feeding the Chapter are of course 203 Ancient Union Princes Lodge, 1013 Royal Victoria, 3580 Excelsior and 7590 Tudor Rose (now defunct) and a couple of single members from other Lodges
It meets on the third Thursday in October (Installation) and the same days in December February and April at Liverpool Masonic Hall 22 Hope Street…
In Recent years it has suffered a fall in membership common to most Masonic orders. To date we are managing to keep going by the Companions working together and Companions in the non-progressive offices staying in office longer than usual and those in the progressive offices going through again. One Companion in the 1980’s staying in the office of first Principal for three consecutive years, in the recent past one has gone through again for a second time and Ex.Comp. I.MacFall is now on his fourth circumnavigation.
This demonstrates the Companions determination to keep the Chapter alive and functioning. After a period of no new members we have had in the recent past two candidates an we have two more in the pipeline together with at least one joining member.
In the recent past we feel that maybe candidates are coming back to Masonry and this can only be good for the Craft and the Chapter.
With the change in the regulation that you no longer have to be an Installed Master in the Craft to go on to the chairs and the younger Companions coming forward, it is felt by the Chapter that we may be at last on the mend and look forward to the future with renewed confidence
